About the Recipe

We love this meal when we're too tired to cook and just want an easy dinner. A cheesy and rich tomato sauce mixed with pasta and bacon is the perfect filling meal when it's cold outside. We like to serve it with our Industrial Strength Garlic Bread for a yummy and filling meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Smoked Bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1 1/2 lb Penne Pasta, cooked al dente

  • 1 jar Abundant Garden Marinara

  • 3/4 lb Mozarella, shredded

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium sized skillet, sauté the bacon until it is just crispy. Remove bacon from pan onto a paper towel lined plate. In the same pan that was used for the bacon, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

Step 2

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Following the instructions for the pasta, cook until al dente. You don't want to overcook your pasta because it will become soft and mushy when baked in the oven.

Step 3

In an oven safe baking tray, mix together the bacon, onion, pasta, Abundant Garden marinara, and half of the cheese. Place in your preheated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the tray from the oven and sprinkle the remaining cheese over the entire dish. Return tray to the oven and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.

Step 5

Serve hot with a side salad and our Industrial Strength Garlic Bread.
