About the Recipe

This is a super easy fruit cobbler recipe that can be whipped up the night before a pot luck or family get together. Obviously the easy recipe is using premade canned pie filling, but if you have a favorite pie filling recipe of your own, use that instead. That may require cooking before assembling the cobbler, so let the homemade pie mixture cool slightly before using.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Cinnamon Graham Crackers

  • 2-3 cans Fruit Pie filling (any flavor, or use freshly made pie filling)

  • 1 stick of Unsalted Butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup Walnuts, chopped

  • 1/4 cup Pecans, chopped

  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

  • 1 tsp Nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp Clove

Preparation

Step 1

Add a single layer of graham crackers to the bottom of a baking tray. Spoon over the fruit pie filling to create a layer that evenly covers the graham crackers. Repeat this process of layering graham crackers with pie filling until your tray is almost full. You should have a layer of pie filling as the top layer.

Step 2

Crush any of the remaining graham crackers and put into a bowl. Add the chopped nuts and spices. Pour the melted butter over the graham cracker and nut mix, 1 Tbsp at a time until a slightly sticky mixture is formed. You don't want the topping to be too wet. Top the filled tray with the graham cracker mix.

Step 3

Refrigerate until the pie filling has firmed up, about 2 hours. Serve with custard or ice cream for a perfect after dinner treat!
