About the Recipe
This dish is a delicious and hearty weeknight meal. It can be enjoyed on it's own as the main dish or as a side dish with other meals.
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds Ground Beef
1 large onion
2 Poblano Peppers, diced
2 4oz cans Sliced Mushrooms
1 Bottle GR8 Pepper Sauce
2 8oz cans Tomato Sauce
2 cups Basmati Rice, uncooked
3 cups Water
2 Tbsp Cumin
2 Tbsp Chili Powder
1 4oz can Diced Green Chilis
1 tsp Crushed Pepper Flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
Sour Cream, to serve
Fresh Parsley, to serve
Cheddar Cheese, shredded, to serve
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a Dutch oven on the stove, brown the ground beef, onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Step 2
Mix in the BR8 Pepper Sauce, tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder, green chilis, pepper flakes, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simemr for 5 minutes. Add rice and stir to combine.
Step 3
Cover Dutch oven and place into the preheated oven. Bake for 20-30 minutes, stirring often to prevent rice from sticking.
Step 4
When rice is fully cooked, remove from the oven and server hot. Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, and fresh parsely.
